THIS TIME
Released December, 2006

"From when we are born to the time when we leave this earth is only a matter of milliseconds when compared to the billions of years we have been in the making, yet the journey that is life is a long road home to where we began.
We should be reminded daily that we are on the long road home; that our time is now, our time is this time. We have only this time.
It is what we do with this time that is our defining identity. Where we are going is inconsequential, where we have been is irreversible; we have only this time.
Breath and breath deep. Inhale what is now. Store within your deepest chambers all that life has presented, and embrace this time. We have but a few milliseconds. We have This Time."

THIS TIME is a collection of sultry, original compositions by E Rick Rinaldi. Warm, passionate, compelling, and exciting are just a few words to describe these performances; THIS TIME is a showcase of Rick's unique delivery of rhythm, instruments, and vocals.
The song, This Time, symbolizes the hour glass of our lives, while Gypsy represents those times when we seem off course.
Rick wrote Chloe of Brooklyn for a "very special woman" while he watched her rise and fall through difficult times, until finally she was victorious; today Chloe remains in New York where her personal and professional life are a grand success.

Saving Baghdad "is not political", but instead a unique blending of instruments, rhythm, and vocals that are the Allied Forces marching towards Baghdad in the name of freedom.
When Michael's Song was composed, Michael J. Rinaldi had finished a full tour of Afghanistan, and was in his first full tour of Iraq. Michael has since finished four tours in Iraq, and as of this writing he is preparing for a fifth deployment there. "I am proud to call Michael my son; he has displayed true courage, a commitment to his country, and a willingness to do whatever it takes in the name of freedom." Michael is in his 13th year with the US Air Force, and is well decorated.
At one time or another each of us has been a part of the Rumor Mill, we are at times victim to what "they say."

"I was at the keyboards writing and from where I was seated I could see my grandson, Anthony. He had been gibbering with his grandmother, Lee, and she fell asleep in the middle of it all. Before I was done that night, I had completed Good Night, Sweet Lee."
Reflections of Whisper Hollow is a look back to Rick's early days with Lee Darby. "Whisper Hollow was a clearing we named for a place in the forest where we had a picnic before we actually acknowledged the electricity between each other. I think back to those days often, and with a boyish sort of excitement."
"With the joy of love come loss. Willow Fields was written for those who left a lasting impression. Old friends, special relationships, estranged family, special folks who have passed on. I imagine tall willow in a large field with these special people walking through the willow, some walking with others, some walking alone, some smiling; others not. I've seen my grandfathers in that field, and Mr. Piava, Walt Miller, Jack Thiel, Dan Molinaro, all who have passed on but remain in my heart and prayers. Others, family members and lost loves (they know who they are) need only to reach across the bow.....I am still here and still strong."

When Lovers Cry was composed for those who live a life of love, and have love strong enough to realize that at times lovers do cry, and that it is at these times of crying that love grows stronger.
There is a special little niece that Rick calls his Princess. After a long, noisy, rather crowded family gathering, he watched exhausted Isabel fall fast asleep on a sofa. He watched her for sometime, and realized later that the noise of a large family gathering had seemed to disappear while he watched her sleep. That night, he began composing what is now a Lullaby for Isabel.
"The relationship of lovers is a sacred thing, and the moments shared should be kept secretive, and as elusive as Two Shadows. Foolish are those who put their relationships out there for the world to observe and offer comment."
"So I wrote this piece of jazz...I love jazz...jazz is raw sex appeal...it is raw passion...it is just damned raw.... and I just could not place a name on the piece. I walked around the keyboards scratching my head over this....I spotted a magazine, a fashion magazine, and that did it. I've been on Fashion Avenue in the warmer days of late spring....Ever been there?....visit some time....you will then understand Walking Fashion Avenue."
On The Long Road Home is a song for all of us. We are born, and we then begin on our journey home.
